Tachibana Featured in a New Book Describing Brass Band Difficulties During COVID-19 Pandemic

In 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic caused many difficulties to the high school brass bands in Japan, club activities were cancelled and so were the AJBA competitions. In this new book “吹奏楽部バンザイ!!: コロナに負けない” (=”Brass band Banzai!!: Don’t lose to Corona”) by famed brass band author Ozawa Buchō brass band club members of five schools tell their experiences of these tough times and how they overcome the obstacles they were facing every day.

From Kyoto Tachibana the main storyteller is the 117th Class Club President “Nokoko”. Other schools presented in the book are Takanawadai High School attached to Tōkai University, Mito Girls’ High School, Yamagata Prefectural Tsuruoka Technical High School and Hokkaidō Sapporo Shiroishi High School.
