O-VILS. (=former Groo Me!) is a brass ensemble formed by Yuina Mita (see more of them here), composed of several highly admired Tachibana alumnae and playing very much Tachibana-like music. After their inaugural concert in April 2021 in Kyoto (see details here) they announced that further activities are forthcoming and on May 16, 2021 the band launched a crowdfunding project on Readyfor.inc (click here for the project material). The funds are collected to cover the operating expenses of the band for the next half a year.
First goal of ¥5’000’000 (=USD46’000 = EUR37’7000) was easily achieved in an hour and and half after the launch of the project, and the band comfortably reached the second goal of ¥10’000’000 (=USD91’600 = EUR75’400) as well.
The funding period ended on June 13, 2021, and in the end the band collected ¥25’949’000 (=USD235’000 = EUR195’000) from 886 backers, i.e. five times their original first goal.

Just checked the crowdfunding site today – someone made a single 1 million Yen donation to the band. They’ve got a serious backer now, wondering who that person is.
Also, from Mita-san’s last livestream, she mentioned there’s 1 new member joining O-Vils, but she’s keeping it a secret for now.
Hopefully all these are good signs for the future 🙂

The crowdfunding reached yet another milestone, 15 million Yen. I wonder if it can reach 20 million by the end. That should be more than enough to cover their expenses for more than a year I guess. So exciting!

I hope Mita-san is able to arrange to make it easier for foreigners to donate. I am in America and a huge fan of Tachibana and Groo Me and would make regular donations to help as long as it is a secure site. I have wanted to donate to KTHS for a long time and in the past suggested a Paypal account and once again i ask Mita-san to consider getting a Paypal account. I would love to talk to her about it sometime.
