  1. Relating to the Osaka Castle Park video by H Kura above, which only covered a few minutes of their practice parts of their main song in their gold winning performance. I don’t recall seeing this video posted here on the blog, so apologies for duplicating, ODF.

Here’s another of H Kura’s videos of almost 40 minutes of their tuning and warm-ups at that park.

Good headphones/speakers are essential to catch the nuances and ambience of how this stunning band fine tunes themselves.

This video starts off with the trombone team with Cony, and you get to hear a lot of “Hai!” acknowledgements of each of the members when they’re told to make minor corrections to their performance with no complaints about having to repeat and repeat their part.

A fine example of Cony showing how much of a leader she is, wanting nothing less than perfection from the team!

Later we get to hear how they fine tune their harmonies with Mr Tanaka (I think), and their performance in full, including a very fast award presentation without any fanfare, and the team’s exuberant joy celebrating their well-deserved victory.

    • Note also Mr Yokoyama’s pep talk around the 18 minute mark in the prep room, and Cony’s teary inspiration to the group.

I’ll admit, I’m trying to find those darned stealth ninjas cutting onions around here too.

    • Really nice watching this precious video but at the same time was too sad to see the post color guard part leader(114class) who cried during taking pictures after winning ceremony for not being able to join the performance and the others too who wore white t-shirts… so sad cause I either can feel their feeling… they even couldn’t mingle with performance members laughing and happy in yellow uniform….

  3. Ooppss…it seems that Pimo isn’t the only one who has a left shoe problem. The sousaphone player at the rear is seen adjusting her left shoe as well (3:32).
